I got my invitation to the reinvigorate.net beta this morning. For those of you who haven't heard of it, Reinvigorate is yet another javascript based web stats tracker, with i assume the intention of having a much nicer and more usable interface than Google analytics.
Now I've been using Google analytics for about 6 months now, and it's served me very well, but guys, the interface needs a lot of work. Everything seems tiny and crammed into one corner, often used menu items are hidden inside large, expandable, badly named javascript menu's, and because of the heavy use of ajax, using the back button generally has unwanted results.
So I've been eyeing up the competition. Although I would love to, I can't run Mint due to its PHP and database requirements (all .NET here sadly). Lucky I found out about Reinvigorate.
My experience so far (only a day) has been mostly very positive. I like the summary page, it has most of the info I want (with the exception of top referring urls), laid out with nice big numbers for the important stuff. The graphs are image based, as oposed to the flash maps in analytics. They look nicer, but are occasionally missing useful things like captions on the bar graphs, instead relying on a colour coded key that sits below the graph. Not ideal.
User tracking is fantastic, though not so useful for my site. If you have a login system on your site, reinvigorate provide examples of how to bind usernames to your user's stats data, seeing how often they visit your site. Very nice. Loyalty is displayed prominantly next to each user.
The interface itself rely's very much on tabs, but the tabs are quick to switch between, and everything is well named and well grouped. Certain areas are collapsable, and unlike analytics, colapses without a postback.
It is a product in beta, so I'd imagine they are taking user feedback quite seriously at the moment, and I've given them a bit of feedback about the problems above. On the whole I would reccommend signing up for the beta, hoping they fix the slight annoyances, and it should mature into a fine stats package.
